Gators host first duals at home

The Ware county wrestling team went 1 – 1 losing to Brunswick 39 – 36 and beating Tift Co. 54 – 21, bringing their record to 9 – 3 for the season thus far.  The Gators, who are still without 5 varsity starters due to the football playoffs, put up some pretty good numbers against a fully loaded Brunswick team losing by 3 team points in their first match Tuesday night.  The Gators bounced back with a decisive win against a young Tift Co. team besting them by 33.

Gators take 2nd in West Laurens!

The Ware Co. Gator wrestling team placed 2n in the West Laurens Duals on Wed. 11/21/12 bringing their record to 8 – 2.  The Gators, who are still without 5 varsity wrestlers due to football involvement were able to go 4 – 1 at West Laurens defeating East Laurens 59 – 18, GMC 72 – 12, Westside Augusta 73 – 6, and Rutland 53 – 12.  The Gators matched up with West Laurens in the finals and fell 53 – 12 to a fully loaded West Laurens team.  The Gators are fighting strong!

Gators take 2nd in Swamp Duals!

The Ware Co. Gator wrestling team opened their season at home on Saturday hosting the 4^th annual Swamp Duals.  The Gators went 4 – 1 placing 2^nd overall in the tournament.  The other teams competing were Appling Co. (0 – 4), Brantley Co. (0 – 4), Brunswick HS (4 – 1: 3^rd place), Camden Co. A team (5 – 0: 1^st place), Camden Co. B team (4 – 1: 4^th place), Valdosta HS (2 – 3: 5^th place), Tift Co.
