WCHS history, finishing as runner-up to Logan Sims of Woodland (Dec. 3 – 0) in
the finals, and Jacob Allen (195 lbs.) earning the first individual state

Allen won the gold in the finals defeating Isiah Ross from Woodland 10 –

first period 4 – 0. Ross flurried in the second period, and in the beginning of
the third tying the match at 5. Starting
in the defensive position with 15 seconds left in the match, Allen attempts a
Peterson getting caught for 2 near fall and dropping 7 – 5. Using his “funky” wrestling technique, Allen
is able to hip-heist into a grape-vine position scoring a two point reversal
and earning 3 near-fall with the match ending with Ross on his back defending
an eminent pin. You can see the time
lapse still photographs of the last 15 seconds of the match at www.warecountywrestling.com The pictures will be posted Monday. As a team the Gators finished 8th
