The Gator wrestling team went 2 – 1 at the Area 3 AAAAA wrestling dual championship hosted by Richmond Hill HS.  Placing Ware Co. second overall and qualifying the Gators for state duals for the 5^th season in a row.  The Gators were among eight area teams that competed including Camden, Richmond Hill, South Effingham, Effingham, Brunswick, Statesboro, and Coffee Co. (Glynn Academy did not participate).  The top four teams in the tournament were Camden Co. (first place), Ware Co. (second place), Richmond Hill (third place), and Effingham Co. (fourth place).  The Gators with a second seed in the tourney first matched up with South Effingham defeating them 43 – 32.  This put the Gators in the semi-finals against Richmond Hill whom they defeated 42 – 30.  In the finals Ware Co. matched up with Camden Co. and fell to them 74 – 0.  The Gators dual record currently stands at 29 – 7 as they head to Macon to compete in the state dual championship.  The event will be held at the Macon Centriplex on Thursday Jan. 15^th through Saturday Jan. 17^th.  Wrestling will begin on Thursday at 2:30pm.
