Battle at the Beach – Glynn Academy Nov 22, 2016

 The Gator wrestling team increased their dual record to 13 – 3 as they won their first tourney of the season on Tuesday at The Battle at the Beach hosted by Glynn Academy.  The event hosted 8 teams including Ware, Jenkins, Effingham, Richmond Hill, Glynn Academy, Brunswick, Yulee, and Brantley.  The Gators went 4 – 0 for the day making for a great finish before the turkey day break.  

In their first match, Ware went head to head with Yulee HS and defeated them 51 – 16.  In their next dual match up the Gators blasted Jenkins 70 – 9.  In their third dual of the day the Gators went head to head with Brantley Co. defeating them 48 – 22.  That set the stage for the finals where the Gators matched up with Richmond Hill.  The Gators stepped up against their former region rivals and defeated them with a sound score of 46 – 27.  

On a side note, junior Brandon Foster is the only Gator wrestler who remains undefeated with a record of 16 – 0.  

The grapplers have a well-deserved break upcoming and will resume competition on Wed. 11/30 where they will host Brantley and Yulee.  

Come out and support the Gators wrestlers!  Wrestling will begin at 5:00 pm.
