Gators take 2nd in season opener at home! Swamp Duals 2023

 

The Ware County wrestling team opened its season on Saturday hosting the 15^th annual Swamp Duals here in the Swamp.  The teams competing were Bainbridge, Brantley, Lee, Effingham, Brunswick, Richmond Hill, Berrien, Tift, Lowndes and Ware Co.  The Gators placed 2^nd overall in the tournament going 4 – 0 in their pool but losing in the finals to Richmond Hill.  In round 1 the Gators bested Lee Co. 36–34.  In round 2 the Gators beat Brantley Co. 45-36.  Ware matched up with Tift in round 3 beating the Blue Devils 69-9.  The Gators had their bye in round 4.  In round 5 the Gators won their pool by beating Effingham Co. 66-15, placing the Gators in the finals with Richmond Hill.  The Gators dropped their final dual to Richmond Hill with a score of 42-28. 

The Gators will be travelling to Effingham Co. on Saturday 11/18/23.  Complete dual results as well as individual Gator match-ups are listed below.
