The Gators had five wrestlers go undefeated in the tourney: Luke Littlefield (Jr – 106), John Williams (Sr – 113), Isaac King (Sr – 145), David Shavers (Sr. – 170), and Jacob Allen (Jr. – 182). Some highlights for these five wrestlers include Luke Littlefield scoring 5 straight 1st period pins for the Gators, John Williams bringing his individual record to 48 – 0 with a come from behind win in the last 30 seconds in the 3rd period vs. Logan Wesoloski from Whitewater, Isaac King defeating the #1 ranked 145 pound wrestler from Pope, David Shavers continuing to dominate the mat scoring 2 TF’s and a pin not having a single point scored against him during the tournament, and Jacob Allen scoring 4 pins including a come from behind pin against all American Trevor Stevens from Pope high school. Stevens placed 5th in the Super 32 tournament last year and was 4th in the state at 195. Allen was down 9 – 0 when he broke Stevens down to the mat and turned him for the fall in the 3rd period. Other big wins by Gator wrestlers include a 12 – 8 decision by KP Boatright (Sr.) vs. Flowery Branch in the quarter finals and a defensive pin by Demarrio Buckhalter vs. Allatoona in round 1. Jake Gourley (Jr.), Lewy Morrison (Sr.), Dakota York (Jr.) and Anthony Rolle (Jr.) also played a major role on the mat for the Gators coming up with big wins against tough competition. Dual meet results were as follows: Ware over Allatoona (44 – 21), Ware over Flowery Branch (quarterfinals 41 – 25), Pope over Ware (semifinals 43 – 30), Ware over Creekview (consolation semifinals 39 – 26), and Whitewater over Ware (consolation finals 42 – 27).
