Ware County Wrestling: Gators win second straight Traditional Area Championship

The Ware Co. Gator Wrestlers won their 2^nd straight Traditional Area Championship Saturday qualifying all 14 of their wrestlers for the sectional tournament to be held at Loganville HS next Friday and Saturday 2/8/13 – 2/9/13. The teams competing were Ware Co. (1^st place 205.5), Effingham HS (2^nd place 199.5), Richmond Hill (3^rd place 126.5), Glynn Academy (4^th place 93.0), Jenkins Co. (5^th place 33.0), and Windsor Forest (6^th place 26.0). The Gators came away with seven Area Champions (106 – Luke Littlefield, 113 – John Williams, 126 – Jake Gourley, 145 – Isaac King, 170 – David Shavers, 182 – Jacob Allen, 285 – Dakota York), three Area Runners-up (120 – Aaron Yarbrough, 169 – KP Boatright, 195 – Anthony Rolle), three Area third placers (132 – Zurell Taylor, 138 – Devante Durham, 152 – Shawn Lewis), and one Area fourth place (220 – Lewy Morrison).

Wrestlers competing in the sectional tournament must place in the top 8 of 16 to qualify for the GHSA Traditional State Championship tournament to be held at the Macon Centriplex on Thursday – Saturday 2/14/13 – 2/16/13.
