Sweet Onion Memorial 1/19/18-1/20/18



The Ware Co. Gator Wrestlers took 2nd place in the Sweet Onion Memorial this weekend hosted by Toombs County High School. There were 27 teams in the tournament with Toombs County (1st), Ware County(2nd), Fitzgerald(3rd), Vidalia(4th) and Coffee County(5th) finishing top five.  Ware had 11 of their 17 varsity entries place in the top six. The Ware County medalists were Brandon Foster (3 – 1 placing 2nd), Reese Pool (4 – 1 placing 3rd), Jahiem Howard (4 – 1 placing 3rd), Demarion Dennis (6 – 1 placing 3rd), Nawin Hyers (5 – 1 placing 3rd), Conner White (6 – 2 placing 4th), Cannon White (5 – 2 placing 5th), Zay Taylor (4 – 2 placing 5th), Colby Walker (3 – 3 placing 6th), Jesus Hernandez (5 – 3 placing 6th), and KJ Thomas (3 – 3 placing 6th).  The Gators will be wrapping up the regular season at home on Tuesday hosting Yulee and Brantley at 5:00 p.m. in the Gator Den.  The Gators will be honoring their seven senior wrestlers Tuesday evening as well.  The Area 2AAAAA Traditional Championship will be held Saturday at Ware County High School. 
Wrestling will begin Saturday at 10:00 am.
