The Gator wrestling team competed at Loganville HS in the Class 5A Sectionals this weekend and qualified 12 of 14 weight classes for the GHSA Class 5A State Championship to be held at the Macon Coliseum, Wed. – Sat. 2/13 – 2/16.  There were 29 schools represented in the tournament this year.  To qualify wrestlers had to place in the top eight in their 16 man bracket at the sectional tournament.  Qualifying for the Gators were Ethan Frye at 106 lbs.  (placing 4^th), Grayson Smith at 120lbs.  (placing 8^th), Reese Poole at 126 lbs. (placing 1^st), Dustin Varnadore at 132 lbs. (placing 7^th), Mosies Butler at 138 lbs. (placing 4^th), Kooper Thomas at 145 lbs. (placing 1^st), Cannon White at 152 lbs. (placing 3^rd), Conner White at 160 lbs. (placing 2^nd), Nick Felton at 170 lbs. (placing 7^th), Jesus Hernandez at 182 lbs. (placing 5^th), Zay Taylor at 220 lbs. (placing 3^rd), and Israel Smalls at 285 lbs.
