Gators take 2nd at Region Duals!

  

The Ware County hosted the Region Duals Championship this weekend. The AAAAA Region consists of Ware Co, Coffee Co, Greenbrier, Statesboro and Jenkins. The Gators finished 2^nd in the Region behind the Region Champions, Greenbrier.  The Gators went 3-1 in the tournament; the results are listed below. The Gators dual record is 30-16 for the season.   In Round 1 of the tournament Statesboro defeated Jenkins 60 – 24 and #2 seed Greenbrier defeated #3 seed Ware Co. 37 – 24. In round 2 #1 seed Coffee defeated Statesboro 81 – 0 and Ware Co. defeated Jenkins 78 – 0.  In round 3 (finals) Greenbrier defeated Coffee in a close dual 34 – 30 earning Greenbrier a region title, and Ware Co. defeated Statesboro 81 – 0 earning the Gators a 3^rd place.  A true second place match was held between Ware Co. and Coffee in a fourth round in which #3 seed Ware Co. defeated #1 seed coffee 43 – 33.  The final Region 1-AAAAA results are listed below:

1 – Greenbrier

2 – Ware Co.

3 – Coffee

4 – Statesboro

5 – Jenkins

The Gators will head to Cass High School on Jan 14 to compete in the State Duals Prelims.  Wrestling will begin at 10 AM
