The Ware Co. Gator wrestling team finished their dual season hosting Berrien HS and Yulee HS for their senior night Tuesday 1/31/23. The Gators bested Berrien 63 – 12 and beat Yulee in a close dual 41 – 34 bringing their dual record for the 2022 – 2023 season to 38-17. The seniors who were honored on Tuesday were Evie Brown, Myra Relyea, Jon Robertson, Skylar Carter, Landon Hendrix, and Zander Moye. The Gators and Lady Gators begin their traditional season this weekend with the Lady Gators competing in the Area 2 Girls championship on Friday 2/3/23 at Jeff Davis High School. Wrestling will begin at 1:30 PM. The Gator wrestlers will compete in the Region 1 5A traditional championship on Saturday 2/4/23 hosted by Coffee Co. HS. The event will take place at Coffee Co. middle school and wrestling will begin at 10 AM. The top 4 wrestlers in each tournament will move on to the sectionals. Girls sectionals will be held at Upson Lee HS on Friday 2/10/23 and the boys sectionals will be held at Cambridge HS on Saturday 2/11/23. For news and pics visit www.warecountywrestling.com.
