Ware County Wrestling: Yellow Jacket Duals 12/1/23-12/2/23

The Ware County wrestling team competed in the Yellow Jacket Duals, the JV Stinger Slam, and the 1^st annual Queen of the Nest Girls tournament at Jeff Davis High School December 1st and 2nd. The Gators went 6 – 0 in their pool putting them into the championship (Gold) bracket. The Gators dropped a very close dual to Oglethorpe and then went on to beat Toombs Co. and Dade to place 5^th overall in the 27 team duals tournament. This brings the Gators to 14 – 4 for duals on the season. Pool play went as follows: Win vs. Montgomery (78 – 6), Win vs. Effingham (47 – 30), Win vs. Berrien (64 – 15) Win vs. East Laurens (FF no show), Win vs. Chatooga (54 – 30), and Win vs. Jeff Davis (78 – 6). In the Championship bracket the Gators lost to Defending 1A state champs Oglethorpe (36 – 42) then came back to beat Toombs Co. (48 – 26) and Dade (52 – 21). The Gators will be travelling to Lowndes Co. on Tuesday 12/5/23. Wrestling will begin at 5 PM. Complete results for all 3 tournaments are listed below:
