Blue Line Duals 11/20/21

 

The Gator wrestlers travelled to Effingham County Saturday, November 20^th to compete in the Blue Line Duals. There were 8 teams in the tournament: Effingham, South Effingham, Richmond Hill, Alexander, Hilton Head, Vidalia, Benedictine and Ware. South Effingham came away with the tournament win in the finals vs. Richmond Hill.  The Gators went 2 – 1 in their pool falling to  Richmond Hill 56-24, then scoring a pair of wins 54-27 over Benedictine and Hilton Head 52-30.  The Gators then lost a pair of crossover matches, first to South Effingham 63-15 and then their 2^nd crossover match to Alexander 60-24. The Gators dual record for the season is now 5-6.

The Gators will travel to South Effingham on Tuesday, Nov 23^rd, to wrestle in the Turkey Duals. Wrestling will start at 9:30 am.

Vs. Bacon County

 The Gator wrestling team hosted Bacon Co. Tuesday in the Gator Den and bested the Raiders 78 – 6.  The Gators will be travelling to Coffee Co. tomorrow for a JV round robin tournament and then make their way to Effingham on Saturday to compete in the Blue Line Duals.  Wrestling on Wednesday will begin at 5 PM at Coffee Middle School and competition on Saturday will begin in Effingham at the old middle school gym at 9 am.  Complete results for tonight’s action is listed below:

Caitlyn Mixon is an All-American!

Congratulations to Caitlyn Mixon (11th grade) who competed at The Girls Nationals wrestling tournament at VA Beach April 23-25.  

Caitlyn went 2 - 3 placing 8th overall.  

Caitlyn is recognized as a high school All-American.
