The Ware county wrestling team took nine athletes to the
state traditional tournament this past weekend at the Gwinnett Arena in
Atlanta. Those competing this past
weekend were John Williams (113), Taylor Bristow (132), KP Boatright (138 –
made it in as an alternate, placed 9th in Sectional), Isaac King
(145), Shawn Tinnyhill (152), David Shavers (170), Charles Johnson (182),
Anthony Rolle (195), and MJ Young (285).
The Gators placed 12th overall in the state and had three state
placers: Shawn Tinnyhill placed 6th,
David Shavers placed 4th, and Charles Johnson placed 5th.
The Gators have certainly moved up in the field placing in the top 12 as a team.
