7th Annual Swamp Duals Nov 14, 2015

The Gator wrestling team started their season strong going 3 – 1 in the Swamp Duals hosted by Ware Co. this past Saturday.  There were 10 teams who participated in the tournament this year. 

They were Camden A, Camden B, Ware Co, Effingham Co., Brunswick, Glynn Academy, Colquitt Co., Tift Co., Lowndes Co., and Valdosta.  The records for each team in pool play were as follows:  Camden A 4 – 0, Camden B 4 – 0, Ware Co. 3 – 1, Tift Co. 3 – 1, Valdosta 2- 2, Colquitt Co. 2 – 2, Effingham Co. 1 – 3, Lowndes Co. 1 – 3, Glynn Academy 0 – 4, and Brunswick 0 – 4.  

In their first dual the Gators matched up with Valdosta besting them 55 – 24.  In round 2 the Gators wrestled Camden B and lost a close dual 38 – 37.  In round 3 the Gators beat the Effingham Rebels 63 – 12. Round 4 brought the gators their 3^rd dual victory of the new season as the beat Glynn Academy 64 – 9.  

Notable Gator performances include Cole White (Jr.), Nawin Hyers (So.), and Britton Jones (Jr.) who all went 4 – 0 for the day.  

The Gators will be travelling to Effingham Co. next weekend to wrestle in the Buddy Duals.  Wrestling will begin at 10:00 am.
