Effingham Co Rebel Invitational

The Gator wrestlers competed in the Rebel Invitational Friday and Saturday in Effingham Co. this past weekend finishing 5^th out of 17 teams and produced 4 individual champions, a 3^rd place finish, a 4^th place finish, and two 5^th place finishes out of the 13 weight classes that they brought to the tournament.  The Gators only had 11 of the 14 weight classes filled in their line-up and were able place 7 of their wrestlers in the top 5.  The Ware Co. A team consisted of Reese Poole (Fr.) at 106 lbs. going 2 – 2 and placing 4^th, Brandon Foster (So.) at 113 lbs. going 4 – 0 placing 1^st, Sharod Cobb (Jr.) going 3 – 2, Kaleb Aldridge (Jr.) at 126 lbs.  going 5 – 1 and placing 3^rd, DJ White (So.) at 138 lbs. going 1 – 2, Cole White (Jr.) at 152 lbs. going 5 – 0 and placing 1^st, Dalton Soper (Sr.) at 160 lbs. going 3 – 0 and placing 1^st, David Soper (Sr.) at 170 lbs. going 3 – 2 and placing 5^th, Nawin Hyers (So.) at 182 lbs. going 2 – 2 and placing 4^th, Britton Jones (Jr.) at 195 lbs. going 4 – 0 and placing 1^st, and Brandon Rowland (Sr.) at HW going 2 – 2.  The Gators also brought 2 wrestlers competing as their B team which consisted of Danny Banks (Sr.) at 120 lbs. going 2 – 2 and Otis Robinson (Fr.) at HW going 5 – 2 and placing 4^th.  With 4 champions the Gators led the field in the finals producing the most first place finishes in the tournament.  The top 6 teams were Valdosta (1^st place) with 275 team points producing three champions, two 2^nd place finishes, two 3^rd place finishes, two 4^th place finishes, one 5^th place finish, and 2 6^th place finishes; Coffee Co. (2^nd place) with 212 team points producing 3 champions, one 3^rd place finishes, two 4^th place finishes, one 5^th place finishes, and three 6^th place finishes; Richmond Hill HS (3^rd place) with 208 team points producing two champions, three 3^rd place finishes, two 5^th place finishes, and one 6^th place finish; Effingham Co. (4^th place) with 202 team points producing three 2^nd place finishes, four 3^rd place finishes, and one 4^th place finish; Ware Co. (5^th place) with 201.5 team points producing four champions, one 3^rd place finish, one 4^th place finish, and two 5^th place finishes; and South Effingham (6^th place) with 172 team points producing two champions, one 2^nd place finishes, two 3^rd place finishes, and one 6^th place finish. 

The Gators will be travelling to Tift Co. on Tuesday 12/15/15.  Wrestling will begin at 5:30.
