11 State Qualifiers!

The Ware Co. Gators took all 14 weight classes to the AAAAA Sectional state qualifying tournament held at Veterans HS on Friday and Saturday 2/3/17 – 2/4/17 and placed 11 wrestlers in the top 8 who will move on to the state championship next Thursday – Saturday at the Macon Centreplex in Macon GA.  There were 24 teams represented at the tournament and the top 8 in each weight class from each section, A and B, will compete in the state championship tournament.  Qualifying for the Gators were Cole White (sr.) 152 lbs. placing 1^st, Brandon Foster (jr.) 113 lbs. placing 3^rd, Britton Jones (sr.) 195 lbs. placing 3^rd,   Conner White (fr.) 126 lbs. placing 5^th, Rick Walker (jr.) 138 lbs. placing 5^th, Eli Hodge (jr.) 170 lbs. placing 5^th, Nawin Hyers (jr.) 182 lbs. placing 5^th, Zay Taylor (so.) 220 lbs. placing 5^th, Reese Poole (so.) 120 lbs. placing 7^th, James Lucas (jr.) 285 lbs. placing 7^th, and Quay McKinney (so.) 160 lbs. placing 8^th.
