Ten wrestlers qualify for State! 2/2/18-2/3/18

 The Gator wrestling team qualified 10 wrestlers for the GHSA state traditional championship to be held at the Macon Coliseum Thursday- Saturday 2/8/18 – 2/10/18.  To qualify, wrestlers had to place in the top 8 in a 16 man bracket.  The Gators place winners were Brandon Foster (sr.) at 113 lbs. placing 2^nd, Nawin Hyers (sr.) at 182 lbs. placing 3^rd, Reese Poole (jr.) at 120 lbs. placing 4^th, Zay Taylor (jr.) at 220 lbs. placing 4^th, James Lucas (sr.) at 285 lbs. placing 4^th, Conner White (so.) at 126 lbs. placing 5^th, Ethan Frye (so.) at 106 lbs. placing 6^th, Banner Thomas (fr.) at 132 lbs. placing 6^th, Demarion Dennis (sr.) at 145 lbs. placing 7^th, and nick Felton (jr.) at 170 lbs. placing 8^th.  Blaine Aldridge (sr.) at 152 lbs. placed 9^th and will be an alternate at that weight class and will wrestle if any wrestler in the 152 lb. weight class from section A is unable to compete.  Other Gators who participated at sectionals included Jahiem Howard (fr.) who went 2 – 0 on Friday but did not make weight Saturday excluding him from further competition, Qway McKinney (jr.) with a record of 1 – 1 on Friday but got disqualified after a flagrant misconduct during his match vs. Ola on Friday, and Jesus Hernandez (so.) who went 1 – 3 in the tournament.  For a complete state championship schedule and admission prices visit www.ghsa.net  Complete individual results are listed below:
