Gators place 2nd in Yellow Jacket Duals 12/4-12/5

 

• The Gator wrestling team competed in the 14^th annual Yellow Jacket Duals hosted by Jeff-Davis high school this weekend going 9 – 1 in the tournament and placing second overall in the 20 team dual tournament.  The teams competing in the tournament were Berrien, Brantley, Coffee, East Laurens, Effingham, Dodge, Fitzgerald, Jeff-Davis, Jones, Lamar, Loganville, Screven, Statesboro, Swainsboro, Telfair, Toombs, Vidalia, Wayne, Wayne 2, and Ware.  The tournament had 2 pools of 10 teams.  Each pool competed for pool championship and then the 2 pool champions met in the finals for the tournament championship.  The Gators were in the yellow pool along with Berrien, Dodge, Fitzgerald, Jones, Swainsboro, Statesboro, Vidalia, Wayne 2, and Loganville.  The Gators went 9 – 0 in pool play winning their pool.  The Gators met Effingham in the tournament championship and dropped the dual 46 – 27.  This brings the Gators Dual record to 14 – 2 for the season.  

The Gators will be travelling to Charlton on Tuesday 12/8/20.  Wrestling will begin at 5:00 PM.
