Nine Gators qualify for State!

The Lady Gator wrestling team qualified 2 wrestlers for the state traditional finals to be held at the Macon Coliseum 2/16/23 – 2/18/23.  Senior Evie Brown (120 lbs.) placed 4^th at sectionals and junior Samantha Savinon-Rios (135 lbs.) placed 5^th at sectionals.  The top 6 from each sectional move on to the state championship and represent the top 12 wrestlers in their weight class.  Also competing for the Lady Gators were freshman Emalee Hendrix (105 lbs.), junior Delaney James (145 lbs.) and senior Myra Relyea (140 lbs.).  The Gator wrestling team qualified 7 wrestlers for the state finals.  Sophomore Devin Phillips (106 lbs.), junior Kamani Gainer (138 lbs.), junior Eric Gaspar (138 lbs.), senior Jon Robertson (144 lbs.), junior Wyatt Deal (157 lbs.), junior Zach Riodriguez (175 lbs.) and junior Jabare George (215 lbs.) all placed in the top 6 in their weight class and will move on to the state finals this weekend.  Also wrestling for the gators were freshman Damarion Zanders (113 lbs.), sophomore Jacob Brown (120 lbs.), senior Landon Hendrix (126 lbs.), junior Noah Lucas (165 lbs.), junior Bradley Porter (190 lbs.), and senior Zander Moye (285 lbs.).  Complete tournament results are listed below.  Information for the GHSA State Traditional Championship and the tournament schedule can be found at https://www.ghsa.net/ghsa-traditional-wrestling-state-championship
