The Ware Co. Gator Wrestling team competed in the Sweet
Onion Memorial Traditional Tournament hosted by Toombs Co. HS on Friday and
Saturday placing 6th as a team out of 27 teams that entered. The Gators only entered 12 of the 14 weight
classes in the tournament. The Gators
placed 5 wrestlers including Brandon Foster (jr) placing 2nd with a
record of 3 – 1 for the day, Cole White (sr) placing 2nd with a
record 3 – 1 for the day, Eli Hodge (jr) placing 3rd with a record
of 4 – 1 for the day, Zay Taylor (so) placing 3rd with a record of 4
– 1 for the day, and Rick Walker placing 6th with a record of 3 – 3
for the day. The Gators will be wrestling in the Area 2AAAAA traditional Championship this Saturday 1/28/17 hosted by New Hampstead HS.
Wrestling will begin at 10:00 am.
