The Gator wrestling team entered the Wildcat Invitational
this week and placed 8th out of 17 teams with only 7 out of their 14
starting varsity wrestlers participating.
Ware Co. medaled 6 wrestlers in the tourney including Britton Jones 195
lbs. (sr.) placing 1st, Brandon Foster 113 lbs. (jr.) placing 2nd,
Conner White 120 lbs. (fr.) placing 3rd, Reese Poole 126 lbs. (so.)
placing 3rd, Nawin Hyers 182 lbs. (jr.) placing 3rd, and
Austin Sweat 145 lbs. (jr.) placing 5th. The Gators also entered 7 grapplers in the JV
tournament and medaled 2. Jaheim Howard
170 lbs. (8th grade) placing 1st, and James Lucas HW
(jr.) placing 2nd. The Gator
will be preparing for their Area (Region) Duals tournament next week which will
be held at New Hampstead High School on Saturday Jan 7th. Wrestling will begin at 10 am. Individual and team results are listed below:
