The Gators won their 4th consecutive region traditional team title and qualified all 14 wrestlers for the AAAAA Section B state qualifying tournament next weekend. The Gators placed all 14 weight classes in the top 3 with 7 region champions, 4 runners up, and 3 third place finishes in the tournament.
The Gator wrestling team competed in the Region 2 AAAAA traditional wrestling tournament Saturday at Wayne Co. HS. The Gators will be travelling to Alexander HS next Friday and Saturday to compete in the sectional tournament. The sectional tournament is a state qualifying tournament in which the top 8 in each section (A and B) move on to the GHSA State Traditional Championship to be held at the Macon Coliseum Feb. 13 – 15. Wrestling will begin at Alexander HS on Friday at 4:00 PM and at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Individual region results are listed below. Team scores and brackets are attached.
